Hi, I’m April, and thanks for visiting my blog! I have more hobbies & interests than time will allow. My partner and I have been together since 2003, and together we are the crazy cat couple living in our second house as of 2019. He & I currently have 3 cats here with us and six that have crossed the rainbow bridge.

I love am used to be obsessed with gardening and would be outside each day for hours, tending to my plants and working on projects. However, in the past 2 years, it’s started feeling more like a chore as I constantly battled with our swampy Alabama summers, disrespectful weather, constant pest pressure, and weeds that have ZERO boundaries… Top that off with the noticeable start to perimenopause, and my desire and motivation to do gardening related projects disappeared.

Working from home gives me flexibility, and I also dabble in woodworking, house projects, various arts and crafts, and anything else I latch onto interest-wise.

I wiped this blog clean at the beginning of 2026 and tried to give it a clearer direction: a personal space for documenting my journey of getting my life a little more together. Life had other plans, but I am hopeful I can start posting more here in the 2nd half of the year.

You’ll probably find me writing about life as a cat mom (including the hard parts – health issues and all), my own perimenopausal journey, the slow process of trying to get healthier and the setbacks that come with it, occasional recipes, house projects of every size, and gardening when I actually do it. The list isn’t fixed. This space is for whatever is real and happening.
