New Year

I am bringing back my Life of a Gemini blog and will use it to blog about everything I do: gardening, cat-related posts, any recipes I want to share, woodworking stuff, etc. For the past year, I have been all over the place, wanting to do a blog or social media account for every small interest I acquire, along with any hobby I have. Maybe I’m having an identity crisis, I don’t know. What I do know is I don’t have time to maintain that many blogs and accounts.

So, everything will go here on Life of a Gemini. The posts will be geared towards sharing what I do in hopes of inspiring someone else or helping someone. It is also a way for me to have a searchable journal of everything I do.

2025 was a rough year, and I have no intention of revisiting every challenge I had to face. The most heartbreaking part was saying goodbye to 3 of our fur babies. Alex and I ended the year with laying the last of our oldest cats, Oxford, to rest. We lost Oxford’s brother, Bailey, back at the end of February to cancer, and we quickly and unexpectedly lost our sweet Vidalia the beginning of June to an unknown disease or illness. I try not to stress and worry too much over the remaining 3 cats we have, but it’s hard not to worry.

My first goal for 2026 is to start working on changing my mindset and stop being so pessimistic about everything, even when everything in life is going wrong and it seems pointless to try. There are many things I want to work on and get done this year, but I’m not going to list those out. I just want to start DOING stuff. I’ve been in a rut for quite some time, and it’s about time I kicked myself out of it and got back to the April I was a few years ago.

I sure do hope 2026 is a great year because 2025 was not it.
