My mother’s birthday is December 20th, so I always have to come up with both a birthday gift and Christmas gift for her. Last year, I couldn’t really decide what to get her for either, so I opted for cash. Who doesn’t like cash, right? But I didn’t want to hand her a card or small gift box with the cash inside, so I did a Pinterest search for something a little more creative.
For her birthday, I bought a small gift basket, some shredded paper, and lollipop sticks from Michael’s craft store. I used this tutorial from Liluna.com to make money pinwheels and then used glue dots to attach them to the lollipop sticks. I included some of her favorite chocolates, and voila! A cute money-giving gift idea. It took her a minute to realize the pinwheels were actual money and not just decoration.
For Christmas, I found some bullets that she and my dad use for one of their guns, and they’re pretty hard to come by in the town she lives in. I bought the box limit at my local Wal-Mart and made a “Christmas tree” out of money using this tutorial on WikiHow’s website.
