At the beginning of May while looking around in the garden center of Lowe’s, I came across a plant I’d never seen before – and I go to the garden centers around here every year.
This is the picture I snapped after planting it. Sorry for the not-so-great quality. That’s an iPhone for you.
It bloomed fairly well but the number of blooms on it now have decreased, possibly because of the heat and high humidity here in Alabama. I keep the plant on my front porch area in a spot that rarely gets any direct sunlight. I am hoping mine will survive winter and come back next spring.
It is still producing blooms here at the beginning of July (though not as many as before). I just love the flowers on this plant; they’re so gorgeous and unique-looking.
